PROJECTS INFORMATION/ FORECAST
Lady of Mercy Orphanage;
location: Mikindani. 200m off NAIROBI HIGHWAY from Transpares.
servicing: +70 children aged 3 months to 17yrs. Male and female.
Dependency: Totally on well wishers, donors, sponsors .
Progress : One hen house completed, 50 chicks in house. Feed/medication ok.
Expectation: To raise the chick stock to 200 by june 09 .To generate income by empowerment of the residents through skills , and practical help.

Wakesho Self help group ;
location : Mlaleo kisauni.Momabasa. 300 mtr from VOK stage on Mombasa- Malindi road.
Servicing:Past totals of 34 ladies+ 24 children now increased by a third Feb 9th 09. Ages 2yrs to 22yrs .Runs a feeding program, technical skills and crafts training. Incorporates HIV/aids infected children..
Dependency:Donations, sponsors, self help through clothing sales, exhibitions of dance.Limited materials and tools to expand.
Progress:First batch of materials for tie and dye process donated Jan o9.
Expectation: To promote self help in catering,hairdressing, dressmaking and dance/music displays. To raise 10 used sewing machines,cloth materials, threads, Salon equipment, cooker,fridge and ovens ,and as many reconditioned laptops as possible. Aim is to create a self supportive institution by DEC 09, to generate income to centre, to help underpriveged girls from the area. To train the ladies in practical skills.

Ingrids Education centre:
location:Kayole
Servicing:Between 90 and 120 children from needy backgrounds. Commited to community empowerment for local women.
Dependence: From a monthly payment of 200 kes from board officers. Donations ,sponsors,well wishers.
Progress: A community involvement scheme is well advanced. Two new classrooms added during Jan/Feb 09. 24 children have graduated in Nov 08 and a Christmas party for all was held 21 Dec 09. Increases in pupil intake increasing regularly. Outside donors have pledged a lap top for mid month Feb 09.
Expectation;To increase material school needs .Wish list includes more desks, benches, excercise books and food stock ie. Maize,beans etc to keep the one meal a day at school progam continuous. Increase volunteer teachers . To raise sufficient funds to purchase the rented land. To introduce and implement skills for women to become self supportive.
AS at 8th febuary 09 Kenya aid appeals has funded the erection of two classrooms. This has enabled another approx forty pupils to be enrolled. EMPOWERMENT!

Bamburi orphanage:
The current project was completed May 09 this year. K.A.A.O. made a successful appeal which raised food stock for the 63 children. The delivery was made by Abdalla and Lucy ( Both based in Mombasa). Along with 14 days full meal stock several donations of clothes and Toys were also given over. Further clothes, food, education needs and skills training are being planned for the future.

Nakuru Freedom school:
To be published, along with outlines for starting a new school for a very needy area. Initially the focus is on a food program for 150 children, clearing land rent arrears, repairs and renovation.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO REGISTER WITH US. WE NEED ANYONE THAT CAN TEACH SKILLS, HELP WITH GENERAL LABOUR AND TASKS, AND CAN HELP TO BUILD A LOCAL KENYA AID APPEALS CELL/ WORKING GROUP.

ELDORET IT CENTRE:
Good progress is being made here and we hope to raise more used laptops to increase more computer skills training for local teen orphans. A second "home" business is being set up, if all goes well this will enable more women and girls to make a better income.
