YA AID APPEAL ORG. (KAAO)
BRIEF OUTLINE:
* Kenya Aid Appeals, Volunteerism and Box A Box. All three had been in operation for several years , working individually but with similiar aims and goals. It was decided to unite into one coordinated unit in order to share facilities and manpower. This has proved to be a very positive move forward.
Visits have been made to Wema Centre in Mombasa, Mtongwe Initiative, Christian Institute Training Center (CITC) Mombasa, Ujamaa Centre, Baobab Childrens home, Children Rescue Centers (Malindi and Thika), AbulBul (Nairobi), Huruma IDP camp(Nairobi),Sole mercy orphanage(Nairobi) ,Bamburi orphanage, Mwakirungi village .Lady of Mercy (Mombasa), Wakesho institute (Mombasa),Ingrids Education centre(Kayole), Eldoret IT centre and now Nakuru ghuto-Hilton.

We provide them with ideas and tools to create a means to sustain themselves, using skills and training, in particular home based work or enterprise.
Members and Membership:
We invite everyone to join this organization. One becomes a member after paying a membership fee of Ksh.500 and a monthly contribution of Ksh.100 for 3 months consecutively. Where possible we ask our members to volunteer on the ground. The organization has 15 registered members and over 300 online friends, volunteers and sponsors from all over the globe.
Funding/Management :
Funds have been the main stumbling block for the realization of the organization`s goal. Despite this we are active in organized programs and activities in the country, KAAO has been mainly dependent on members fees and contributions for funding for most of its budget.Additional donations from well wishers help in a very positive way.

The funds and donations are managed by the director- Abdalla Mbogo and the financial committee comprising of, the treasurer, Coordinator and Liason Officer. Each has a specific task in the follow up of each and every project, Activity sponsored, or initiated by the organization. This ensures materials donated will be used for the intended purpose and the project is a success.
We never give money to third party organizations or people.
We provide the materials direct to the source and they capitalize on that resource to produce results as we monitor their progress.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
• Initiate and Sponsor projects for needy people and Communities.
• Educate and Empower orphans, needy people and women.
• Get funds through, donations, membership fees, grants and fund drives etc.
• Hold Workshops and seminars where necessary.

Vision and mission.
The Organization envisions a society where children, orphans and those in need are empowered and enabled to produce and support their own lives.
The organization shall through a process of engagement, project formation, and implementation, build grass roots groups ,and influence policy reforms through dialogue to seek the attainment of the aims and objectives, for that group.

Statement of intent.
This organization shall in the long term, improve in the society such values that will enhance and empower those in need. This will be achieved through networking, participation and empowerment of groups through organizations, beneficiaries, public donation and other fundraising activities and projects.
